Joanne Fink - Zenspirations™
Joanne Fink loves letters… words… and writing inspiring sentiments. After two decades as an art director, Joanne's personal creative journey led her to explore putting pen to paper; Zenspirations™ is the outgrowth of her journey.
Best known as a calligrapher, Joanne is also an author, teacher, speaker, designer and mentor. Joanne started her career as a greeting card designer, and is a six time Louie Award winner. She spent 11 years as the Design Editor for Greetings etc. magazine, and occasionally contributes to Gifts & Decorative Accessories and other industry publications. Joanne founded her studio, Lakeside Design (www.lakeside-design.com), after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981. Lakeside Design specializes in developing inspirational and faith-based products for the gift, stationery, and craft industries.
Joanne has taught and lectured internationally, and has written many books, mostly about Greeting Card Design and Lettering. This January (2013), Joanne has two new books being released. Her new gift-book, With God All Things Are Possible, is being published by Harvest House, and Design Originals is introducing Zenspirations Dangle Designs, the sequel to Joanne's best-selling, Zenspirations Letters & Patterning. She served on the Board of Directors of the Greeting Card Association from 2001 – 2009, and before that served as President of the Foundation for the Calligraphic Arts. She co-chaired the Craft and Hobby Association's License & Design Advisory Board for several years, and is a popular seminar presenter at CHA and other trade shows, where she shares her product development, trend forecasting and art licensing expertise.
When not at her drawing board, Joanne can be found chauffeuring her children Samantha and Jonathan to their various activities. She enjoys reading, singing, drawing, yoga, playing word games and spending time with friends and family.
